  • Autodesk 3dsmax TLS 1.2 `security` patch.

Anyone still using legacy 3dsmax tried the TLS1.2 patch yet ?
Was cynically wondering if it`s anything like Adobe removing older version availability but by more stealthy means. June 15th deadline or something.

edit: woops, was supposed to be in off topic thread..soz

Autodesk sent out an email week before last saying we *had* to upgrade or possibly lose access ? Appears to be 2017 and earlier versions only.
From the email ... `so you don’t lose software access or connectivity.`

        Oh i see, thank you.
I think a world-wide patching is happening on TLS (to v 1.2), so the versions which are affected will need to upgrade.
As they'll upgrade their side, you may indeed end up "disconnected" from a few services if you don't update yourself.
        Or so i read it.

It`s what i thought but then Adobe cut off legacy access because they seemingly don`t want to pay 3rd party licensing, so I`m a little suspicious about Autodesk getting in on the fun !
thanks for having a look though !
